Academic programs currently operating in the discipline of Extension Education are largely open-ended propositions. Pass-outs of Master’s and Doctoral programs are often neither demand-driven nor employment-oriented. Their training does not adequately align with corporate requirements, resulting in a mismatch between degree holders and employer expectations.
To bridge this critical gap, a need-based and employment-oriented postgraduate education program in Extension Management is proposed. This initiative aims to create industry-ready professionals equipped with managerial, technological, and communication competencies relevant to modern agri-business ecosystems.
The organization mandated to award the MEM degree shall be named
“India International Academy of Extension Management (IIAEM)”,
to be established under the aegis of Extension Systems Foundation International (ESFI).
ESFI shall function as the Implementing Agency of this academic initiative.
- Public Academic Institutions: Agricultural Universities under whose nomenclature the MEM degree shall be awarded.
- Private Sector Partners: Corporate Houses manufacturing branded agri and allied products.
- International Bodies: World Bank, IFAD, USAID, and Foreign Universities.
